The summer of tennis has arrived and VicTennis are heading to Geelong for the first time to premier the Geelong LGBTIQ+ Lawn Championships!

Kick start the year with a fix of grass court tennis in the first LGBTIQ+ run event at the Geelong Lawn Tennis Club. Wear your tennis whites for that authentic Wimbledon feel and start the new year with friends on the court.

The Geelong LGBTIQ+ Lawn Championships will be held as a round robin format in both singles and doubles across three grades with the best performing teams in each pool progressing to the finals.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Format and Rules

Singles and Doubles round-robin matches will be a single set to 6 with a 7 point tiebreak at 5 all if required.

All matches will be a maximum of 40 minutes in duration.

If a match is incomplete at the 40 minute mark the player or team that is ahead wins.

If games are tied a sudden death point is played with the server being the person who is serving or due to serve the next point.

Standard round robin rules following pre-set GLTA default software settings apply. Players advance on match, set and game difference in that order.
